Simone Edwards, Global Process Analyst

Simone joined Sun Chemical in 2011 as a Bilingual Master Data Analyst and has since earned three promotions. She now holds the position of Global Process Analyst in our IT Department.

Mr. Gabriel Zapata is the Technical and Regulatory Coordinator for Sun Chemical Latin America.

As a member of the technical team for Sun Chemical Latin America, Gabriel manages extended color gamut projects for the region, in addition to his regulatory and customer technical service (CTS) responsibilities.

With a professional degree in chemical engineering, Gabriel began his career at Tintas S.A. - Colombia in 1996, when the company was part of a joint venture with Sun Chemical. Gabriel has occupied several technical and quality positions during his time at Sun. In 2002, he became certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Donald Brown, Team Coach North American Customer Service

Donald joined Sun Chemical in 2011 as a Customer Account Analyst in our North American Customer Service group. He was promoted to the Team Coach position in 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

Melissa Sponarski, Operations Analyst

Melissa joined Sun Chemical in 2017 as an Operations Analyst in our Global Cash Operations department. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Wright State University.

“I came from a public accounting background where I was unsure if I could be challenged in the corporate atmosphere. I was completely wrong, I am challenged and growing every day. The days are never the same and that is what keeps the job exciting and helps me grow both professionally and personally. The other thing that I love with working at Sun Chemical is that you never feel excluded, it really is a family environment.”

Kelly A. Dobos is cosmetics technical manager for the Americas region at Sun Chemical Performance Pigments. She is responsible for technical support and marketing of a variety of pigment product lines, including SunSHINE synthetic mica pearls, SunPURO natural mica pearls, SunCROMA organic and inorganic pigments, and SpectraFlex Soft Focus alumina-based soft focus pigments.

Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College, a Masters in Business Administration from Cleveland State University and a Masters in Pharmaceutical Science with Concentration in Cosmetics Science from the University of Cincinnati. She is the current Vice President-Elect of the U.S. Society of Cosmetic Chemists and will assume the role of President in 2019.
