Understanding the needs of the packaging ink market.
Sun Chemical Performance Pigments manufactures its aqueous dispersions in its dedicated facilities in Amelia, OH and Koge, Denmark. Its unique understanding of the packaging ink market contributes to the production of the following lines:
FLEXIVERSE® AQUEOUS DISPERSIONS: high-solids, stir-in organic pigment dispersions designed exclusively for the water-based ink market. Produced to a consistent color value and tint strength, this broadly compatible line includes a vast pigment selection that enables the ink maker to formulate unlimited color combinations. Components include organic pigment, alkali-stabilized acrylic resin, water and a small amount of nonmetallic preservative. No surfactants, wetting aids, glycols, defoamers or other additives are incorporated into the Flexiverse® line. Key benefits of Flexiverse® dispersions include:
• Low viscosity (easy pourability and better handling)
• Constant pigments/resin ratio
• No additives to affect color (glycol free)
• Low VOC
• No slow amines
• Broad compatibility
• Stir-in convenience (no milling)
• Lower inventory requirements
• Diverse selection of pigments
• Non-settling characteristics
• Excellent gloss and strength
• 100% production utilization
• Simplified quality control
FLEXIVERSE® III DISPERIONS: an extension of the Flexiverse dispersions mentioned above, however, their optimized properties and formulation make them ideal for narrow web tag and label applications. Flexiverse® III products offer the following advantages:
• High molecular weight resin
• Superior gloss and transparency
• High pigment loading
• Improved transfer
• Resistant to shock
SunSPERSE® DISPERSIONS: manufactured from a unique formulation that allows the ink maker to produce a broad range of paint and coatings applications. They are glycol and resin free, which allows the ink maker to use them in conjunction with alkali resistant inks. In addition, they will not detract from the properties built into the end system, such as alkali resistance, alcohol tolerance or heat resistance. Other benefits of SunSperse® dispersions include:
• Extremely high pigment loading
• Glycol-free
• Resin-free
• Odor-free
• Excellent transparency
• Most broadly compatible
• Fully dispersed
• High strength
• 100% product utilization
SunSPERSE® APEO FREE DISPERSIONS: designed for applications that cannot tolerate Alkylphenol Ethoxylates. This line uses surfactants that deliver SunSperse® quality that is APEO free.
