Rudi Lenz Joins Sun Chemical As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Fort Lee, NJ
- March 01, 2002 -- Sun Chemical, the world's leading manufacturer of printing inks and organic pigments, announced today that Rudi Lenz has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The announcement was made by Wes Lucas, Sun Chemical President and Henri Dyner, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Lenz will report to Mr. Dyner.
"Mr. Lenz is a world class financial executive with 26 years of financial and general management experience. He is a terrific fit with Sun Chemical," said Mr. Lucas. "He has experience as the CFO of several companies, as the financial leader for manufacturing businesses with global operations, and as a general manager with full profit and loss responsibility. With Sun Chemical's focus on global operations, Mr. Lenz, who was born in Germany and has worked for 12 years in Europe, and for the last 14 years in the U.S., is an excellent addition to our team."
Mr. Lenz is fluent in both English and German, and has worked in multiple cultures across a broad range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, specialty chemicals, fibers, plastics and advanced materials.
Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Fairchild Aircraft Incorporated, a division of Fairchild Dornier Corporation of San Antonio, Texas. Under Mr. Lenz's leadership, Fairchild Aircraft increased revenues, improved overall customer satisfaction, and significantly increased income.
In 1976, Mr. Lenz began his career in accounting and tax with the German Internal Revenue Service. In 1980, he joined Garrett Corporation as an accounting manager in Frankfurt, Germany. He was promoted to Controller and then promoted through a series of financial and accounting positions, ultimately leading the financial and administrative functions as CFO of Garrett GmbH. Following the acquisitions that formed AlliedSignal Corporation, Mr. Lenz became the CFO for AlliedSignal Germany's aerospace, automotive, specialty chemicals, plastics, and engineered materials businesses. He then was promoted to the position of Vice President, Finance - Aerospace Services, AlliedSignal, in Phoenix, Arizona.
In 1997, Mr. Lenz joined Fairchild Dornier Corporation as Executive Vice President and CFO. There he improved the company's financial management capabilities and was instrumental in the integration of Fairchild and Dornier. He was promoted to President and CEO of Fairchild Aircraft in January 2001 and resigned in February 2002 to join Sun Chemical.
Educated in Germany, Mr. Lenz earned a bachelor of science degree in Finance & Taxes from the University of Edenkoben. He earned a master's degree in Business & Administration from the University of Wiesbaden. He is relocating to the New Jersey area with his wife and children.
