Kohl & Madden's New ETCHLesstm Inks Offer Faster Setting, Drying Times and Sharper Printing

Fort Lee, NJ - November 01, 2002 -- Kohl & Madden Printing Ink Corporation, a well known ink manufacturer supplying high quality inks to the sheetfed and commercial markets, has completed extensive press testing of a series of new sheetfed offset inks called ETCHLess inks. These new inks print with water only; no fountain solution etch or alcohol substitutes are needed.

The ETCHLess ink series is based on a new, patented technology that offers the printer faster setting and drying times, resulting in quicker work and turn - while maintaining extremely sharp printing due to minimal dot gain.

A proprietary selection of resins and oils enhances the transfer of ETCHLess inks and provides exceptional trapping efficiency. They also provide faster plate clean-up, resulting in quicker make ready and reduced waste.

ETCHLess inks will stay open in the fountain for 24 hours, and the dried ink film will accept water and/or UV coating, foil stamping and lamination.

"This patented technology represents a major step forward in simplifying the offset printing process. It offers value to printers by limiting chemistries in the pressroom with no loss of print quality," said Craig Morgan, Kohl & Madden's Director of Marketing.

ETCHLess inks are available in standard process colors, and as a Pantone® color blending system. A new brochure describing and demonstrating Kohl & Madden's ETCHLess ink is available from your local K&M sales representative, who will also be happy to arrange a press trial in your facility.
