Kohl & Madden launches EliminatorTM Ink System; Does Not Require Alcohol Substitutes in Etch
Fort Lee, NJ
- September 29, 2003 -- Kohl & Madden, a well-known ink manufacturer supplying the sheetfed and commercial markets, is introducing the EliminatorTM ink system at Graph Expo 2003, being held in Chicago Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.
Eliminator inks have been formulated to produce outstanding print quality with minimal use of etch and the elimination of alcohol and alcohol substitutes in the fountain solution. The inks are available in process colors and a full set of blending inks to achieve Pantone® colors.
The big advantage of this new system is that it eliminates chemistries in the printing process without sacrificing quality, said Craig Morgan, Kohl & Madden Marketing Director. This creates many benefits, he said, including more control on press, reduced fountain solution costs, sharper dot structures, lower VOCs, and faster job turn-around.
New, proprietary technology employed in Eliminator inks allows the printer to achieve required densities with a thinner ink film. This creates exceptionally sharp dots by eliminating the detrimental effect of alcohol and alcohol substitutes on dot gain.
With its improved transfer, the printer will find they can turn down their ink keys, Morgan said. The inks also offer excellent dry times for faster turn-around and provide good rub resistance. Printers can expect to match or exceed gloss readings of conventional ink systems. Eliminator inks can be used on a wide variety of paper substrates, and the dried ink film will accept UV coatings, foil stamping, lamination and laser printing.
Manufacturing quality printing inks since 1906, Kohl & Madden operates more than 26 manufacturing locations throughout the United States. Kohl & Madden is a division of Sun Chemical Corporation.
