Sony Electronics Awards Sun Chemical 100% Marks in Exacting Environmental Audit
Niedernhausen, Germany
- July 30, 2003 -- International electronics giant, Sony Corporation, prides itself on its environmental concern and has named the Sun Chemical Hartmann liquid inks plant at Niedernhausen, Germany as a certified Green Partner.
Sony now audits all its suppliers and their subcontractors worldwide on an annual basis and recently audited one of its major packaging suppliers, Dunapack Paper & Packaging of Nyíregyháza, Hungary. As suppliers of flexo inks to Dunapack, Sun Chemical Hartmann were next in line for a detailed audit. Internationally accredited inspectors arrived, carried out an exhaustive full day audit and awarded the Niedernhausen inks facility a 100% clean bill of health.
"We are very proud of the award" says Monika Friedrich, Quality Assurance Manager for Sun Chemical Hartmann Druckfarben. "This is the first time that an ink supplier has achieved 100% marks in a Sony environmental audit."
Sun Chemical shares Sony Corporation's high standards of environmental concern and operates SUNCARE, a safety and environmental programme aimed at protecting the health and safety of its employees, the users of its products and the environment.
