SunJet® Launches Two UV Inkjet Technologies

Fort Lee, NJ - September 29, 2003 -- SunJet®, part of the Digital Division of Sun Chemical Corp. , is launching two new digital ink technologies at Graph Expo 2003, being held Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. SunJet specializes in inkjet inks and related technology.

CrystalTM UDG – UV Inks for Display Graphics

To expand its impressive range of UV curing inks for wide format inkjet printing, SunJet announces the Crystal UDG ink product line, aimed directly at the important display graphics market. These inks have unique performance characteristics on flexible and rigid media, and incorporate hardness and scratch resistance with film flexibility. The display graphics market is known for its demands on ink performance on a wide range of both rigid and flexible substrates. UDG inks allow the printer to increase the choice of media to buyers of inkjet graphics output. The new UDG inks have proven jetting capabilities and have achieved "Approved" status with a leading print head manufacturer.

CrystalTM UGW – White UV Inkjet Inks for Display Graphics

A key requirement for the display graphics inkjet market is white ink. SunJet now announces Crystal UGW white inks. These inks have been formulated to offer printers the ability to choose where to put white ink when printing onto transparent or dark media substrates. The new white inks have outstanding opacity and whiteness unprecedented in inkjet technology.

Utilizing its strengths in pigment stabilization and dispersion technology, combined with application-specific ink formulation capability, SunJet has developed white inkjet inks that offer industry-leading performance. SunJet can tailor ink performance to match customer-specific needs and market-specific characteristics.

The Crystal range of inks is designed for jetting in Piezo DOD print heads. These include oil, solvent, aqueous, hot melt and UV curing ink systems. Crystal products are available for a broad range of print market applications including wide-format graphics, packaging, labels, industrial decoration and commercial printing.

"SunJet is delighted to announce these new products as we continue to meet the application demands of the growing inkjet market," said John Law, general manager of SunJet. "The cooperation with our partners, the print head manufacturers, systems integrators and customers, is enabling us together to increase the capability of digital inkjet technology."

Sun Chemical North American Inks, Kohl & Madden®, SunJet® and VivitekTM will display their newest products and services in booth 812 at Graph Expo 2003. Sun Chemical also has planned a full schedule of in-booth seminars offering solutions to everyday challenges that plague printers. Each division will release new products at Graph Expo that are designed to help printers economically achieve solutions that improve their ability to compete.
