M-Cure™ Makes UV Inks, Coatings More Attractive for Food Packaging
Düsseldorf, Germany
- May 06, 2004 -- A new UV platform technology for inks and coatings is being offered by Sun Chemical. M-Cure™, making its debut at drupa 2004, is a new UV photoinitiator package primarily for use when printing sensitive food, drug and cosmetic packaging with UV products.
This product dramatically reduces odors and off-taste concerns sometimes associated with UV printing. It also introduces a new level of safety in these critical packaging areas. M-Cure technology is used in both offset and flexo inks, as well as UV coatings.
John Adkin, Sheetfed Product Director for Sun Chemical Europe, says: "For many years converters have been using UV-cured inks in packaging, but with some limitations for food packaging applications. Now, Sun Chemical is offering a new package of photoinitiators which avoid materials migration and can be safely used in these sensitive applications."
Sun Chemical will present M-Cure at drupa 2004 in PrintCity Hall 6, Booths A79 and B79. Please visit www.sunchemicalatdrupa.com for more information.
