Vivitek to Sell Flexo Printing Supplies from tesa, HarperScientific
Fort Lee, NJ
- April 25, 2004 -- Vivitek, a services and distribution company, announced today that it will partner with two industry powerhouses, tesa tape, inc. and Harper Corporation's HarperScientific division, to offer a wide range of products for flexo printing, including prepress, mounting, pressroom and finishing supplies.
Vivitek began operations in October 2003 with a focus on supplying heatset offset and sheetfed printers. Vivitek is a member of Sun Chemical Group, the world's largest manufacturer of printing inks and organic pigments.
"We are pleased to offer products from two companies who are industry leaders in their areas of expertise," said William Glass, Vivitek General Manager. "We continuously seek to find partners who can help our customers solve their most demanding print applications, and we have found two of them in tesa (flexographic mounting systems) and HarperScientific (cleaners, proofers, and end seals)". Glass added that Vivitek plans to offer additional flexo- and offset-related supplies as it identifies companies offering best-in-class solutions to specific printing needs.
"We are a leading international manufacturer of pressure sensitive tapes with a strong emphasis on the flexographic printing industry," said Torsten Schermer, CEO, tesa tape NA. "Our new matrix of flexographic printing tapes has been engineered with our customer's needs in mind. Tesa is excited about the opportunity of working with Vivitek, a division of Sun Chemical, a recognized brand and technology leader in the printing industry. Vivitek brings a strong channel to market that offers innovative technical solutions that will impact the industry."
"Our goal has always been to assist the customer with their printing needs," said Bobby Furr, Technical Product Manager for HarperScientific. "All of our products are customer driven. They have a problem, and we have a solution. If we don't have it, we develop it. Vivitek's vision was the same. We liked their philosophy. It was very similar to ours and the direction was the same as well. We felt that by having two companies implementing the same concepts and ideas, it could only help the customer become more educated and minimize the pains and aches created at the printing press. It just made good business sense to us."
