EIGHTY PERCENT OF U.S. COLOR QUALITY CLUB MEMBERS USE US INK
Carlstadt, NJ
- September 03, 2004 -- Eight of the ten United States members of the 2004-2006 International Newspaper Color Quality Club (INCQC) use ink from US Ink.
The eight newspapers are The Boston Globe, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch, Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, NY), The Gleaner (Henderson, KY), Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, News-Leader (Springfield, MO), The New York Times, and The News-Press (Fort Myers, FL).
Five of the eight listed above are first time members of the elite INCQC. The remaining three newspapers, (Democrat and Chronicle, The Columbus Dispatch, and The New York Times), made return appearances in the club. “We are proud of our partnership with these quality-conscious publications,” said John Corcoran, US Ink’s Vice President of Sales.
Sun Chemical Corporation, US Ink’s parent company, did an excellent job on the international front with its quality ink products and services. Sun Chemical and its other divisions assisted an additional 17 newspapers, outside of the U.S., to gain entry into the 2004-2006 INCQC.
As a group, Sun Chemical and its divisions partnered globally with 25 of the 50 INCQC newspapers. The other 25 newspapers were supplied ink from eleven (11) other ink suppliers.
INCQC officials selected this year’s class from a field of 180 newspapers from 34 countries. Newspapers that entered the competition were required to print a series of specifically prepared test images, an editorial image, and a digital ad.
“The fifty newspaper titles that achieved club membership were honored at this year’s NEXPO conference,” noted Michael Dodd, Vice President of National Account Development for US Ink. “Assisting our customers to meet the increasing print quality demands of their readers and advertisers are mutually rewarding.”
