SunPURO™ Iron Oxides Revolutionize Global Cosmetic Formulations
Cincinnati, OH
- April 14, 2005 -- Sun Chemical Performance Pigments introduced today an innovative line of universally compliant, highly pure cosmetic colorants. SunPURO™ inorganic pigments represent a revolutionary product line for cosmetic formulators globally, offering a consistent palette of colors that far exceeds existing regulatory specifications in the United States, Europe and Japan.
Sun Chemical launched the SunPURO™ product line with a series of synthetic yellow, red and black iron oxides. These colorants are manufactured using meticulously controlled processes to ensure their high purity standards and small particle size. Their very low heavy metal content and improved batch to batch consistency make SunPURO™ iron oxides ideal for use in cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical applications.
Rod Staveley, general manager of specialties business unit, emphasized the contribution that this product line will have to the cosmetics industry.
"Due to recent regulatory evolution, we anticipate that providing SunPURO™ inorganic pigments will add value to the cosmetic industry," he said. "Such low levels of heavy metals will enable cosmetic chemists to develop robust global formulations that can withstand future regulatory changes."
