SunJet® to Offer New White Crystal™ UV-Curing Inkjet Inks
Bath, England
- September 01, 2005 -- SunJet, the inkjet ink division of Sun Chemical, announces the introduction of its Crystal URW UV-curing white inks, with enhanced adhesion profile and whiteness.
The Crystal URW inks are designed for use on display graphics and other applications, such as packaging printing in digital presses that use Drop on Demand inkjet print heads.
"White inks offer the opportunity for users to print onto black, coloured and transparent surfaces with a standard CMYK ink set, extending the choice of media on which a wide colour gamut can be achieved,"
said Peter Saunders, SunJet sales & marketing manager. "URW inks are highly pigmented, offering outstanding opacity, covering power and whiteness."
Nigel Caiger, SunJet technical manager, added: "Crystal URW, white inks are based on the leading ink set URG which has the widest adhesion range of any ink set on the market, combining high levels of flexibility with adhesion to hard rigid media. URW Inks are formulated so that certain display graphics media types such as cast-acrylics (cross linked) and polycarbonate, which can be problematic, can be printed without special primers, which is a big advantage to digital press users".
The new white inks have been formulated for Spectra, Xaar and Konica Minolta print heads in keeping with SunJet's philosophy of offering customers comparable technology no matter their choice of hardware.
SunJet will be present at the forthcoming Print '05 exhibition to be held Sept. 9-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, on the Sun Chemical Booth #811.
