Two Sun Chemical Plants Receive SOCMA Achievement Award
Cincinnati, OH
- December 08, 2005 -- The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers' Association's (SOCMA) awarded its 2005 Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) Achievement Award to two of Sun Chemical Corporation's pigment manufacturing facilities: Muskegon, MI and Bushy Park, SC. The award recognizes manufacturing facilities' voluntary commitment to outstanding performance and their accomplishments in implementing and maintaining a strong EHS&S program.
The Muskegon facility wins the award for the second consecutive year, marking the plant's sustained improvement and commitment to safety. Highlighted as a best practice on the SOCMA website, the plant's Emergency Response team partners with the local fire department to host regular training events in the production facility.

The SOCMA Achievement Award lauds those companies who strive for continuous improvement in Community Awareness and Emergency Response, Pollution Prevention, Process Safety, Employee Health and Safety, Product Stewardship, Distribution and Security. The awards will be presented at the organization's 84th Annual Dinner in New York on December 12, 2005.
