Performance Pigments Introduces New SunSHINE® Crystal Cosmetic Pigments for Revolutionary Effects in the Eye Area
Cincinnati, OH
- March 13, 2006 -- Sun Chemical Performance Pigments proudly introduces SunSHINE® Crystal synthetic mica based effect pigments, a revolutionary extension of its current cosmetic pearlescent line. SunSHINE Crystal pigments maintain a unique particle size distribution of less than 150 microns, which allows global cosmetic formulators to create never before achieved effects and colors in the eye area.
SunSHINE Crystal effect pigments are based on coated synthetic fluorophlogopite, which maintains inherent smoothness, high purity and transparency when compared to conventional natural mica. Emphasizing their desirable silk texture and unique cosmetic applicability, SunSHINE Crystal synthetic fluorophlogopite based effect pigments offer extreme smoothness to the touch and a softer feel on the skin, which are essential for formulations around the eyes. This line offers effect pigments with particle size specifications of 25 to 150 microns, with an average particle size of 70 microns.
"Performance Pigments understands the direction of modern cosmetic formulators, and this line appeals to the industry trends towards use of smaller particles in the eye area," said Rod Staveley, Performance Pigments general manager specialties business unit. "The key advantage of SunSHINE Crystal pigments is the lustrous sparkling effect complimenting a feather-like feel, a combination that cosmetic formulators can achieve only with such a unique particle size spread."
