Performance Pigments Launches SunFlo Dispersants for Improved Lithographic Ink Performance

Cincinnati, OH - March 17, 2006 -- Sun Chemical Performance Pigments, a leading manufacturer of organic pigments and preparations, introduces SunFlo Dispersants, a new series of rheology-enhancing additives for lithographic ink bases. Unlike competitive products currently on the market, these additives were designed specifically for use in oil inks and do not cause excessive water pick-up or over emulsification. They impart lower viscosity on the ink bases, making them easier to handle and allowing for higher pigment loading.

"These additives add value to the customer by allowing them to increase their production efficiencies without spending additional capital," said Maurice Carruthers, vice president and general manager of Performance Pigments merchant ink business unit. "In a time where efficiency and productivity are crucial to keeping costs low, ink manufactures can now strengthen their ink bases with a higher pigment loading, while simultaneously improving the handling characteristics of these bases."

Performance Pigments has initially launched the line with 2 products: SFD-R200 for red organic pigments; and SFD-Y300 for arylide and diarlyide yellow pigments. For additional information about SunFlo Dispersants or to obtain a brochure, please contact your Performance Pigments sales representative or Maurice Carruthers at +1 800 543 2323. For international inquiries, please contact Chris Weighill at +32 1023 1500.
