Sun Chemical Appoints Lawson to Lead its
North American Publication and Commercial Ink Businesses
Parsippany, NJ
- November 13, 2006 -- As part of an ongoing effort to provide superior customer service and manage challenging market conditions, Sun Chemical announced today that Greg Lawson will lead its publication and commercial ink businesses in North America, in addition to his role as president of US Ink, Sun Chemical's news ink division.
Lawson succeeds Michael Griem, who will end a two-year assignment as president of Sun Chemical's North American Inks business unit. Griem will return to Sun Chemical's European Inks business unit in January, where he will take on various projects.
"Aligning our Publication Ink Units and North American Commercial Group makes sound business sense as they face similar issues and challenges. It will enable us to better leverage resources as we strive to improve our profitability and operational effectiveness in these challenging markets," said David Hill, CEO and president, Sun Chemical. "Michael's contributions resulted in significant progress over the past two years, and I am confident that Greg will continue that trend of continuous improvement."
Lawson joined Sun Chemical in 2002 and shortly thereafter was appointed president, Sun Chemical Latin America, where he engineered a tremendous turnaround for that business. He was named president of US Ink last March.
