Sun Chemical and DIC Corporation Unveils New Degassing Technology at Aquatech Amsterdam 2017
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – October 31, 2017 – Sun Chemical and its parent company, the DIC Corporation, unveiled two new additions to its SEPAREL® portfolio of membrane degassing modules during Aquatech Amsterdam 2017.
Visitors of booth #03.115 will be introduced to the new SEPAREL EF-040-P-Q and SEPAREL EF-W5 modules, each of which have been optimized for carbon dioxide removal and for applications with smaller flow rates.
The new SEPAREL EF-040-P-Q is the first SEPAREL module designed specifically for the removal of carbon dioxide and is ideal for ultrapure water treatment. Featuring a PMP (polymethylpentene) hollow fiber and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) housing, the EF-040-P-Q module is exceptionally durable. The module exhibits low pressure drop, can operate in flow rates ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 liters per hour, and is small enough to fit in most water systems.
Designed specifically for applications with smaller flow rates, such as analytical devices, the new SEPAREL EF-W5 module is the smallest SEPAREL module for water treatment yet and ideal for flow rates ranging from 100 to 1,500 milliliters per minute.

Booth visitors will also learn how SEPAREL hollow fiber membrane modules remove dissolved gases, such as oxygen and carbon dioxide, in water to prevent the formation of rust and bacteria in water treatment systems. SEPAREL modules can be installed in series within the same water treatment system to ensure sufficient degasification and achieve the desired ppb (parts-per-billion) level for a range of flow rates in various water treatment applications.
In addition, DIC and Sun Chemical will be showcasing an open segment of their SEPAREL EF-120, the largest module in the product line which supports flow rates from 3,000 to 50,000 liters per hour. The open segment will allow visitors to see inside the module and inspect DIC’s proprietary technology first-hand, including its industry-leading hollow fiber membrane.
