JETSTREAM UV

UV CURING MARKING INKS

The JetStream UV Series of inks are solvent resistant, ketone based inks suitable for running in most continuous deflected drop ink jet printers.  After printing, the inks must be exposed to high intensity ultra violet light which changes the chemical structure to achieve excellent resistance to a wide variety of solvents, e.g. MEK, trichloroethane, dichloromethane, etc. The UVK series of inks can be printed on to a wide variety of non-porous substrates, e.g. epoxy Printed Circuit Boards, polyethylene, PVC cables etc.
JetStream UVK 3216 (Red)

This ink is a dye based formulation and offers an option for customers not able to run pigmented jet inks.
JetStream UVK 3302 (Red)
JetStream UVK 7303 (Black)
JetStream UVK 8316 (White)

The above inks are based on pigments and offer optimum print quality and resistance properties.
The white ink UVK 8316, is a newly formulated ink based on titanium dioxide pigment, it is highly opaque with outstanding spot contrast and hiding power on dark surfaces. Some machines may require modifications to run white inks.

The table below is an indicator of the typical physical properties of MEK Based UV curing Marking inks. Physical properties can be modified to suit equipment requirements.

After printing the UV curing inks, a few seconds must be allowed for the solvent to evaporate (1-2secs, depending on ambient conditions). The print should then be exposed to a UV-lamp with a power of at least 80 W/cm. The print will require approximately 1000mJ/cm2 to fully cure.
6 months for UV Curing inks.

Excessive thinning of these products with solvent should be avoided if the essential properties are to be maintained.
Refer to Health and Safety Data Sheet for safe handling, storage
and usage instructions.
These inks have been tested in various print heads. However, users should carry out full testing to confirm material compatibility with all head and peripheral components and to ensure satisfactory operation in their specific application.
All of the inks in the Coding and Marking Range are supplied in UN approved packaging which meets international air, road and rail freight standards.
