Wexham Springs, UK – 6 November 2017 – At Productronica 2017 in Munich, Germany, from 14 November to 17 November, Sun Chemical Electronic Materials (Hall B3, Stand 481) will present the latest technical advances in its Imagecure soldermask range for Direct Imaging (DI) with the launch of its IMC5000 Series.
Designed for optimum use with DI equipment, the new Sun Chemical IMC5000 Series follows the same processing steps as other Imagecure products, but is capable of being exposed at an energy level as low as 40mJ/30 seconds. Applicable by screen print or spray in a semi-matt or matt finish and comprehensively tested on all major DI exposure equipment (UV-LED, LDDI, LDI), the new IMC5000 DI soldermask delivers the same colour density as a conventional soldermask and can consistently hold features as fine as ≤50 microns.
Since the introduction in the early 1980s of Imagecure, Sun Chemical has continued to develop the product range to meet the continually changing demands of the global Printed Circuit Board (PCB) industry. As part of that ongoing development, the IMC5000 Series is being brought to market in response to increased customer demand for higher print definition to produce finer features, improve throughput and increase yields.
Also on display at Productronica 2017 will be a selection of products from Sun Chemical’s extensive range of offerings designed specifically for printed circuit board applications, including soldermasks for rigid PCBs, etch/plating resists, legend/marking inks, conductive inks and a range of products for other printed electronic applications.
“As the leading European supplier of photo-image soldermask products for the PCB industry, not only do we constantly monitor the market and customer needs to ensure that our products offer solutions to current demands, but we also use our expertise and knowledge to develop future-proof offerings,” says Tony Searle, Business Manager, EM Circuits at Sun Chemical.
“We currently have numerous customers using Direct Imaging exposure equipment and this is expected to increase significantly in the very short term. This latest development, the IMC5000 Series, will enable them to increase machine capacity and improve yields by being able to consistently reproduce finer PCB features.”
All of Sun Chemical’s products for the PCB industry are compliant with REACH, RoHS and WEEE legislation.
