Sun Chemical’s Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice (the “Cookie Notice”) supplements the information contained in our Privacy Notice. Sun Chemical (“Sun Chemical,” “us”, “we”, or “our”) uses Cookies and Tracking Technologies on the Site  (as defined in the Privacy Notice).

This Cookie Notice explains what Cookies and Tracking Technologies are, what information they may collect, how and for what purposes we use them on the Site, how our consent model works, how third-parties may use them on the Site, and where you can review and manage your preferences.

What are Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Every time you use the Site (e.g., access a Site webpage), we collect information relating to that use. This may include Personal Data, such as online identifiers, IP addresses, device identifiers, log data, and information about how, when, and which parts of the Site or its features you use. Under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), online identifiers and technical usage data may constitute Personal Data where they can reasonably be linked to an individual, even if we do not directly identify you.

To assist us in collecting and storing this information, we may employ a variety of technologies, including Online Tool Provider (as defined in the Privacy Notice), Cookies, Tags, and similar (third-party) technologies (together, “Tracking Technologies”, as defined in Privacy Notice).

A “Cookie” is a small amount of data a website operator, or a third party whose content is embedded in that website, may store in your web browser and later access when you visit the website. Cookies allow the Site or a third-party to recognize your browser and remember certain information (such as: preferences), which can make your next visit easier and the Site or Service more useful to you. Cookies can be “persistent” or “session” Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on your device for a set period or until deleted, while session Cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser.

A web beacon, pixel, or tag (together referred to as “Tags”) is a small, usually- transparent, image or script placed on a webpage that allows the operator of that image or script, which may be the website operator or a third party, to read or write a Cookie and/or collect information about your interactions with the Site.

Consent, opt-in model, and strictly necessary technologies

We use strictly necessary (also referred to as “essential” or “necessary”) Cookies and Tracking Technologies that are required for the operation, functionality, and security of our Site. Strictly necessary Cookies and Tracking Technologies are automatically enabled and do not require consent where applicable law permits their use because they are necessary to provide a digital service expressly requested by you or to transmit a communication.

Non-essential Cookies and Tracking Technologies, including analytics and marketing/advertising technologies, are used only after you have provided your prior consent, where required by applicable law. Non-essential Cookies and Tracking Technologies are blocked by default and will not be set or activated unless and until you provide your prior consent via our consent-management tool. You may withdraw your consent or change your preferences at any time via our consent-management tool by clicking the “Change your consent” button in the Cookie Declaration section below.

How we use Cookies and Tracking Technologies

When you use and access the Site, we may place Cookies in your web browser, subject to the consent requirements described above.

We may use Cookies and/or Tracking Technologies for the following purposes:

  • Enabling core functions of the Site (such as: page navigation, security, load balancing);
  • Remembering preferences and settings (such as: language);
  • Providing analytics and measuring Site performance to understand how the Site is used and where improvements are needed;
  • Estimating audience size and usage patterns;
  • Testing new pages, features, or functionality, and understanding user interactions;
  • Advertising and marketing, where enabled by your preferences;
  • Measuring the effectiveness of advertising and campaigns ;
  • Compiling aggregate statistical data about traffic to the Site, and Site interactions to resolve issues and offer better user experiences and tools in the future; and
  • Recognizing when you return to the Site.

Where possible, we use information derived from Tracking Technologies in aggregated form for statistical and analytical purposes. However, the collection and processing involved in enabling analytics or marketing technologies may involve Personal Data (such as online identifiers or IP addresses) and is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and your preferences.

Categories of Cookies we use

We use different categories of Cookies and Tracking Technologies on the Site, which may include:

  • Strictly necessary Cookies. These are required for the Site to function and cannot be switched off via the consent tool. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services (such as setting privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms), or to ensure security and network management.
  • Preference/functional Cookies, where enabled (non-essential). These allow the Site to remember choices you make, such as your language or region, and provide enhanced more personal features.
  • Analytics/Statistics Cookies (non-essential). These help us understand how visitors interact with the Site (for example, which pages are visited most often), so we can improve performance and user experience. These are blocked by default and set only after your prior consent.
  • Marketing Cookies (non-essential). These may be used to deliver content and advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests, and to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These are blocked by default and set only after your prior consent.

Third-party Tracking Technologies

In addition to technologies we set ourselves, third parties may set Cookies or use other Tracking Technologies on the Site, for example: to provide analytics services or to deliver advertising. Certain third-party providers may process Personal Data (such as: online identifiers, Cookie identifiers, IP addresses, or usage data) in accordance with their own privacy policies, including where they act as independent controllers. Their collection and processing of Personal Data are described in their respective privacy notices.

Where required by applicable law, including in the EU/EEA, third-party non-essential Tracking Technologies are blocked by default and will be set or activated only after you provide your prior consent via our consent-management tool. You may withdraw your consent or change your preferences at any time via the preference center.

We may update the Tracking Technologies used on the Site from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in our Cookie Declaration and consent-management tool, and this Cookie Notice will be updated accordingly. Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent again before setting up or activating new non-essential Tracking Technologies.

For more information about the privacy practices of the Tracking Technologies that we may use, please see the privacy policies of the relevant third-party providers listed below:

Global privacy control

Where applicable, we may recognize Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals (a browser setting or extension that can communicate certain privacy preferences) as an additional privacy preference signal. However, for users in the EU/EEA, GPC is not used as a substitute for our consent-management tool and does not replace the requirement for prior opt-in consent for non-essential Cookies and Tracking Technologies. In these jurisdictions, our consent-management tool remains the primary mechanism for providing, refusing, or withdrawing consent.

Your choices regarding Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Manage preferences via our consent-management tool

You can review and manage your Cookie preferences at any time using our consent-management tool via the “Change your consent” button in the Cookie Declaration section below. For users in the EU/EEA, this tool is the primary mechanism for providing, refusing, or withdrawing consent for non-essential Tracking Technologies.

  • Browser Controls

You can also delete Cookies or set your browser to refuse all or some Cookies. Your operating system and browser may allow you to erase information stored in Cookies and local storage. Please note that if you delete Cookies or refuse them, some parts of the Site may not function properly (for example: you may need to re-enter preferences, and some pages may not display correctly).
